Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news and rumours, including Kelechi Iheanacho to Celtic, Patrick Wimmer to Leicester City and Marcus Edwards to Burnley.

Celtic are reportedly in discussions with Sevilla over a loan deal for forward Kelechi Iheanacho.

The 28-year-old left Leicester City for Sevilla last summer, but he has found it difficult to make his mark for his La Liga club during the 2024-25 campaign, only making 11 appearances in all competitions, scoring three times.

There is currently a host of speculation surrounding the Nigerian's future, with Leeds United believed to be pushing to sign him.

However, according to Sky Sports News, Celtic are in discussions with Sevilla over a deal for the forward, with the Scottish giants believed to be keen to sign him on loan with an option to buy at the end of the campaign.

Iheanacho scored 61 times and registered 34 assists in 232 appearances for Leicester during his time at the King Power Stadium, while he managed 21 goals and seven assists in 64 matches for Manchester City in the early stages of his career.

Leicester 'exploring deal for Wimmer'

Meanwhile, Leicester are reportedly exploring a potential deal for Wolfsburg's Patrick Wimmer late in the January transfer window.

Wimmer, 23, has scored two goals and registered four assists in 19 appearances for his Bundesliga club this season.

However, there is currently a host of speculation surrounding the attacker's future, and according to The Express, Leicester are one of the clubs keen to secure his services before the end of the market.

The report claims that Wolfsburg would rather keep hold of Wimmer, but a sizeable offer would be considered for financial reasons.

The Austria international has been with his current side since July 2022, making 63 appearances, scoring eight goals and registering 12 goals in the process, including seven goals and 12 assists in 56 Bundesliga matches.

Burnley 'in talks over loan deal for Edwards'

Elsewhere, Burnley are reportedly in talks with Sporting Lisbon over a loan deal for Marcus Edwards.

The 26-year-old has managed three goals in 10 appearances for his Lisbon club during the 2024-25 campaign, but he is being tipped to leave before the January transfer window closes for business.

According to Sky Sports News, Burnley are in discussions with Sporting over a loan deal, which could include an option to make the switch permanent during this summer's transfer window for £8m.

Burnley head coach Scott Parker is said to be driving the interest, as he is familiar with Edwards following their time together at Tottenham Hotspur.

Edwards made the move from Vitoria de Guimaraes to Sporting in January 2022, and he has represented his current side on 120 occasions in all competitions, scoring 24 goals and registering 26 assists in the process.

Burnley are currently third in the Championship table, five points behind the leaders Leeds United.
