Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how France could line up for Saturday's World Cup 2022 qualifying clash with Ukraine.

France forward Kylian Mbappe has emerged as a doubt for Les Bleus' World Cup 2022 qualifying battle with Ukraine on Saturday night.

The Paris Saint-Germain attacker managed to complete nearly the full 90 minutes against Bosnia-Herzegovina in midweek but is reported to have suffered a calf injury, meaning that his prospects of starting here are very slim.

As a result, Kingsley Coman ought to be reintroduced to the attack alongside Karim Benzema and Antoine Griezmann, while Thomas Lemar could keep his spot despite being at fault for Edin Dzeko's opener in midweek.

With N'Golo Kante and Corentin Tolisso now out of contention, Didier Deschamps has called up Adrien Rabiot and Matteo Guendouzi as replacements, but neither man was ready to face Bosnia last time out.

The duo should be fine to feature here, though, and Rabiot has the strongest chance of linking up with Paul Pogba in the middle as Jordan Veretout and Aurelien Tchouameni warm the bench following their international debuts.

Jules Kounde's rash challenge on Sead Kolasinac saw the Sevilla man sent off in midweek, and with Benjamin Pavard also out injured, Leo Dubois should come in on the right-hand side of defence.

Bayern Munich's Dayot Upamecano has also been forced to withdraw through injury, but Presnel Kimpembe and Raphael Varane were expected to resume their defensive partnership either way.

France possible starting lineup: Lloris; Dubois, Varane, Kimpembe, Digne; Pogba, Rabiot; Coman, Griezmann, Lemar; Benzema
