Veteran striker Kenny Miller is "not willing" to give in to football's Father Time after boosting Dundee with a hat-trick in Wednesday's 4-0 Ladbrokes Premiership win over Hamilton.
The 38-year-old skipper's close-range finish gave the home side a half-time lead and he grabbed two more goals after the break – one either side of Jesse Curran's deflected strike – to earn Jim McIntyre his first win as Dark Blues' boss at the seventh attempt.
Miller, who joined the Tayside club in August after a short spell as Livingston player/manager, has scored five goals in three games and he has no intention of letting up.
"I have said all along, I feel great," he said.
"I always think there are other goals in me.
"I am not willing to give in. I'm not willing to give in to time.
"I train as hard as I can every day. I try not to take too many days off.
"If you do that, you are starting to admit you are maybe not capable any more. I am enjoying playing football.
"I felt this result was coming and I was delighted to get it and it gets us back into the mix.
"I feel great and long may it continue."
Dundee's win moved them to within a point of second-bottom St Mirren and within five of Accies and Miller was pleased to see McIntyre get his first victory after four losses and two defeats.
He said: "It is an accumulation of the hard work the manager has put in since he came in.
"It was a well-earned three points.
"It was nice to get the first goal a few weeks back, to follow it up with another at Easter Road and a hat-trick here is pleasing but it was about the result.
"I am delighted for the lads as well, we got the clean sheet and we defended well."
Dundee host Rangers on Sunday and former Gers striker Miller is expecting a reaction from the Light Blues following their 1-0 home defeat to Aberdeen on Wednesday night.
He said: "We go into Sunday full of confidence and belief.
"It will be a tough game, they are a good team.
"That was a disappointing result so they will be hurting. I am sure the manager will be looking for a response.
"When big clubs have a negative result you have to respond so we will need to be prepared for that response on Sunday and match it head on.
"But on the back of the last three performances we can take a lot more heart into the game than if we hadn't got those results."
