Derby County defender Cyrus Christie has admitted that he is facing "a minimum of three months" on the sidelines after fracturing his foot at the weekend.
The 24-year-old picked up the injury during Derby's 3-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship at the weekend.
It had initially been thought that the Republic of Ireland international had only suffered an impact injury, but Christie has revealed that he will miss the remainder of 2016 with the problem.
"Gutted to be out for a minimum of three months. Will see the surgeon to check there is no more damage and get a return date," Christie wrote on his personal Instagram account. "Hopefully it's a speedy recovery and the rehab goes smoothly and will be back fitter, better and stronger."
Christie joined Derby from Coventry City in the summer of 2014.
