Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic is to miss his side's League Cup final with Tottenham Hotspur, after the Serbia international picked up a straight red card in the Blues' 1-1 draw with Burnley.
Matic received the red card controversially, after the 26-year-old pushed Burnley's Ashley Barnes to the floor, reacting to his opponent's rash challenge moments before.
The automatic three-game suspension will stand and the midfielder will miss games against West Ham United and Southampton in the league, unless Chelsea successfully appeal, according to Goal.com.
If the West-London club are unsuccessful with the appeal, Matic will miss the League Cup final against Spurs next Sunday.
The midfield enforcer has only missed one game this season, against Newcastle United in December - Chelsea's first loss of the Premier League campaign.
