Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock admits that he is frustrated after his side's game at Derby County was cancelled hours before kickoff.

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has expressed his frustration that his side's Championship encounter at Derby County has been postponed due to safety concerns.

The game was due to kick off at midday today, but at 8.30am the Rams announced that the game had been called off following heavy snowfall in the area overnight.

The playing surface at Pride Park is believed to be fit to play on due to the ground's under-soil heating, but the decision came about due to the condition of the roads and streets around the stadium, leaving Warnock perplexed.

"We've got some of our fans outside that have travelled a distance, we've got some Derby fans outside that have come from miles away. You see all the comments," Warnock told Sky Sports News after arriving at Pride Park this morning.

"I'm sorry I can't accept that today - safety? We've come out from the middle of the countryside in the coach and the roads have been perfectly alright, so I just don't know where they're coming from with this. It leaves a sour taste for all the people that have travelled.

"Now the Football League will try to force us to play the next available date, which gives us three tough away games, so we're going to have to fight tooth and nail against that - we want it a week later than that. We shouldn't be punished for something like this because this is not our doing. I believe it's a big travesty, this today."

Warnock's side would have moved 10 points clear of third place in the Championship table with a win today.
