Result: Sampdoria grab late point against Cagliari

Sampdoria snatch a late draw against Genoa in Serie A after three goals in the final five minutes.

Sampdoria's Lorenzo De Silvestri struck in the 94th minute to steal a late draw against Cagliari in Serie A, after the home side appeared to have won the game with their own stoppage-time goal.

The first 10 minutes were even, with both sides enjoying some possession, although chances were at a premium. The closet was Nicola Murru, who had a shot blocked for the hosts.

However, Cagliari began to dominate and had a flurry of openings. Daniele Conti headed over before Marco Sau smashed over from outside the box.

The breakthrough finally came when Albin Ekdal struck on 26 minutes. A spell of throw-ins and free kicks followed the goal, before Sampdoria reminded the home side of their threat as Pedro Mba Obiang and Daniele Gastaldello fired over when well placed.

In the second half both teams pushed forward in search of a goal. Radja Nainggolan and Ekdal twice failed to hit the target for Cagliari, while Nicola Pozzi and De Silvestri did the same for Delio Rossi's team.

Pozzi went close again with a header after 80 minutes, but the final five minutes produced three goals.

First Manolo Gabbiadini grabbed Sampdoria's equaliser, but immediately after Cagliari went up the other end to score what appeared to be the winner through Conti. However, De Silvestri had the last laugh seconds before the end.
