Burnley are reportedly considering whether to make an approach for West Bromwich Albion defender Craig Dawson.

West Bromwich Albion defender Craig Dawson has reportedly emerged as a possible transfer target for Burnley.

With Michael Keane expected to sign for Everton in the coming days, Clarets boss Sean Dyche has been required to enter the market for at least one new defender ahead of the new season.

If reports are to be believed, he has missed out on Barnsley centre-back Marc Roberts but according to The Mirror, Dawson is an option for the North-West outfit.

The Baggies also require defenders during this window, but with Dawson only having 12 months remaining on his contract, Tony Pulis must make a decision over his future.

The 27-year-old has been with West Brom for the past seven years, but he was regularly used at right-back last season rather than in the centre of the defence.

However, he did make 37 starts in the top flight during the most recent campaign, showing that he is highly valued by Pulis at The Hawthorns.
