Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has insisted that Sokratis Papastathopoulos will not be allowed to leave the German outfit this summer.

The 27-year-old has developed into a key player for Dortmund since arriving from Werder Bremen in 2013 and it is understood that Atletico Madrid are interested in the Greece international.

Zorc, however, has claimed that his club 'will not consider' allowing the centre-back to depart.

"We are not even considering letting go of Sokratis," Zorc told Kicker.

Dortmund will lose Mats Hummels to Bayern Munich this summer, while fellow centre-back Neven Subotic is currently being linked with a move to the Premier League.
