Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri confirms that Arsenal are in talks with striker Jamie Vardy.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has confirmed that Arsenal have met the release clause in Jamie Vardy's contract.

On Friday evening, reports emerged that Arsenal had made their move for the 29-year-old, who scored 24 goals in the top flight last season to help the Foxes to the Premier League title.

It has since been claimed that a transfer could be completed by the end of the weekend and Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Ranieri has said that talk of a sensational move for one of his star players is "all true".

Vardy is scheduled to travel to France with the England squad on Monday and with Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson banning all transfer negotiations during the tournament, it appears that Arsenal are eager to secure his signature before he competes on the international stage.

Vardy would reportedly cost Arsenal a fee of £20m - just four years since the East Midlands club signed the attacker from Fleetwood Town for £1m.
