The EFL confirm that their programme of fixtures will resume on Tuesday evening as planned.

The EFL have confirmed that their programme of fixtures will resume on Tuesday evening, with the latest round called off as a mark of respect to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen's state funeral will take place on September 19 at Westminster Abbey, and there is doubt over this weekend's Premier League schedule, particularly the fixtures due to take place in London.

However, the EFL have revealed that the "fixture programme will return as scheduled" from Tuesday, while there will be tributes to Her Majesty around the country.

"The EFL fixture programme will return as scheduled from Tuesday 13 September, with tributes to be paid to Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II at grounds around the country," read the statement.

"A minute's silence will be held before matches, with black armbands to be worn by participants, flags to be flown at half-mast and the National Anthem to be played in stadiums.

"With a national policing plan now in operation, the League and Clubs will continue to work with forces in respect of any challenges that may emerge regarding policing of specific fixtures.

"Consideration to individual circumstances will be made on a case-by-case basis, in line with standard match Safety Advisory Group (SAG) protocols."

There are six Championship matches set to take place on Tuesday evening, with Blackburn Rovers welcoming Watford, Huddersfield Town hosting Wigan Athletic, Stoke City travelling to Hull City, Middlesbrough welcoming Cardiff City, Sheffield United visiting Swansea City and Preston North End hosting Burnley.

There will also be 12 League One games on Tuesday, in addition to 12 fixtures in League Two, with all of the teams given the green light to play at this stage.

A statement from the National League on Sunday, meanwhile, revealed that their fixture list would resume on Monday.

"Following the postponement of fixtures on Saturday 10 September - The National League would like to issue the following update," read the statement.

"The League can confirm that further to the announcement that the funeral for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be held on Monday 19 September, National League fixtures for week commencing Monday 12 September will go ahead as scheduled.

"Clubs, for all fixtures up until the funeral, will observe a one-minute silence prior to the game and will wear black armbands as a mark of respect to Her Majesty."

There remains doubt over this weekend's Premier League matches, though, with the league yet to signal whether the fixtures would definitely go ahead.
