Aston Villa boss Unai Emery opts to recall Bertrand Traore from a loan spell at Istanbul Basaksehir, while also allowing two players to leave on a temporary basis.

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has taken the decision to recall Bertrand Traore from his loan spell at Istanbul Basaksehir.

The winger has been earning regular game time in Turkey, making a total of 10 starts and eight substitute outings in the Super Lig and Europa Conference League.

There had been the expectation that the 27-year-old, who has three goals to his name, would see out the season at his current team.

However, Emery has instead opted to boost his squad numbers by bringing Traore back to the West Midlands for the remainder of the campaign.

At the same time as revealing that decision, Villa announced that Marvelous Nakamba and Aaron Ramsey had both been allowed to join other clubs on a temporary basis.

Nakamba, who has not played a single minute of first-team football this campaign, will represent Luton Town in the Championship.

Meanwhile, Aaron Ramsey has been given permission to link up with Middlesbrough in the same division, his second loan move of 2022-23.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a productive first half of the campaign, chipping in with three goals and three assists in 18 outings for Norwich City.

Ramsey, a Villa academy graduate, now moves to the North East, where he joins another Villa prospect in Cameron Archer.
