A report claims that West Bromwich Albion want to bring Aston Villa's Ciaran Clark to The Hawthorns in this summer's transfer window.

West Bromwich Albion are reportedly preparing a summer move for Aston Villa defender Ciaran Clark.

The centre-back is widely expected to leave Villa Park following the club's relegation to the Championship, and according to the Express & Star, West Brom want to keep Clark in the top flight.

The same report claims that the 26-year-old has a £5m release clause in his current deal, although the Baggies are hoping to sign the Republic of Ireland international for less.

Clark came through the youth system at Villa and has made more than 150 Premier League appearances during his time at Villa Park.
