Carles Gil joins Deportivo La Coruna on season-long loan from Aston Villa

Aston Villa announce that midfielder Carles Gil has joined Deportivo La Coruna on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.

Aston Villa have announced that Carles Gil has joined Deportivo La Coruna on a season-long loan deal.

The 23-year-old arrived at Villa Park from Valencia in January 2015 but went on to make just 31 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring three goals.

Gil was unable to prevent the Villans from being relegated from the Premier League last season, and has now returned to his homeland on loan with an option to buy.


Gil started just 17 games for Villa on their way to relegation from the top flight.
