Bastian Schweinsteiger confirms that Manchester United will be the last club that he plays for in Europe.

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has announced that he will not play for another club in Europe during the remainder of his playing career.

The German World Cup winner has been shunned from the first team by manager Jose Mourinho, who replaced Louis van Gaal earlier this summer.

It is believed that Schweinsteiger, who moved to Old Trafford from Bayern Munich last summer for a reported £7m fee, has been training with the youth players.

Recent reports in Germany have claimed that United are willing to offload the 32-year-old for as little as £2m amid rumours that Juventus are sniffing around.

However, the player himself has released a statement claiming that he will not join another club in Europe and will be available for United if called upon.

On his official Facebook page, Schweinsteiger wrote: "MUFC will be my last club in Europe. I respect other clubs, but Manchester United was the only one which could make me leave FC Bayern Munchen. I will be ready if the team needs me. This is all I can say about the current situation. I want to thank the fans for the amazing support over the recent weeks."

The midfielder, who spent the majority of last season on the treatment table with injuries, is believed to be earning £190,000 a week at United.
