A report claims that Arsenal are preparing a £27m bid for Bayern Munich's German attacker Mario Gotze.

Arsenal are reportedly preparing to battle Liverpool for the signing of Bayern Munich attacker Mario Gotze in this summer's transfer window.

The German international, who is currently representing his country at Euro 2016, is believed to be keen on a move away from Bayern this summer as he seeks regular first-team football.

Liverpool were strongly linked with the 24-year-old before the start of the European Championships, but according to The Sun, Arsenal are lining up a £27m bid for the World Cup winner.

Gotze joined Bayern from Borussia Dortmund in 2013 and has scored 36 times in 114 games for the German champions, although just six of those came last season.
