Former Derby County boss Paul Clement is named as Carlo Ancelotti's assistant manager at Bayern Munich following previous spells together at Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid.

Bayern Munich have announced that Paul Clement has been appointed as Carlo Ancelotti's assistant manager once again.

The 44-year-old previously worked with the Italian at Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, helping the latter to La Decima in 2014.

Following the duo's departure from Madrid in 2015, Clement moved into management himself, taking over at Championship outfit Derby County.

However, he lasted just eight months before being sacked in February as the Rams struggled to mount a serious bid for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Bayern also confirmed that Hermann Gerland will continue as assistant coach having been in the role under Louis van Gaal, Jupp Heynckes and Pep Guardiola, while Ancelotti's son Davide has joined the health and fitness team.
