Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka, who has been strongly linked with Arsenal, says that playing in the Premier League is "a childhood dream".

Granit Xhaka has revealed that playing in the Premier League is his "childhood dream".

The Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder has been strongly linked with a move away from his German club over the last couple of months and it is understood that Arsenal lead the race for his services.

On Tuesday, the 23-year-old claimed that his future would "definitely" be decided before Euro 2016, and the Swiss international's latest comments will only fuel speculation that he is heading for England.

"The Premier League is not my goal, but a childhood dream. It is a dream that could be fulfilled," Xhaka told SRF.

Xhaka, who has also previously been linked with Liverpool, joined Gladbach from Basel in the summer of 2012.
