Brighton & Hove Albion have apparently stolen a march on their Premier League rivals in the race to sign highly-rated Olympiacos starlet Charalampos Kostoulas.
The 18-year-old has already come up with seven goals and two assists in 35 matches for the Greek giants across all competitions and signed a new five-year deal with Olympiacos until 2030 in January.
Labelled the 'new Andres Iniesta', Kostoulas had supposedly caught the eye of both Arsenal and Manchester United, but both Big Six clubs seem set to concede defeat in their respective pursuits.
However, The Sun claims that Brighton - who reportedly made a bid earlier this month - are now in pole position to bring the 2007-born playmaker to the Premier League.
The report adds that the Seagulls could wrap up a deal for Kostoulas as early as Wednesday, although there are still some hoops to jump through, as Olympiacos' £34m asking price is currently too high.
Nevertheless, Brighton are still prepared to fork out a sizeable fee to land the 6ft 1in teenage talent, who can play as both a number 10 and number nine.
Manchester United 'offered chance' to sign Tammy Abraham

While Man United may now be unlikely to land Kostoulas, the Red Devils have supposedly been offered the chance to bring Roma striker Tammy Abraham back to the Premier League.
The former Chelsea and Aston Villa centre-forward is set to return to the Stadio Olimpico following a loan spell at AC Milan in 2024-25, where he managed just three goals in 29 Serie A matches.
Abraham's contract with Roma runs for another two seasons, but he has apparently been deemed surplus to requirements at his parent club and will be made available for transfer this summer.
According to TBRFootball, Abraham's representatives have been touching base with a few clubs to gauge their interest in a deal for the Englishman, and Man United are among them.
However, the Red Devils are just one of six sides to have been alerted to Abraham's possible availability, as his old club Aston Villa, Leeds United, West Ham United, Newcastle United and Everton are also in the running.
Abraham - an 11-cap England international - stuck 26 goals and set up seven more in 89 Premier League appearances before departing for Serie A in 2021.

At the other end of the pitch, Nottingham Forest have supposedly been in touch with Atletico Madrid to register their interest in a deal for experienced left-back Reinildo Mandava.
The 31-year-old's contract with Diego Simeone's side expires at the end of June, and as Atletico have chosen not to extend his terms, he will be searching for a new destination for the 2025-26 season.
The Mirror claims that both Forest and Crystal Palace are battling to sign the Mozambique international in the current window, and the former have now stepped up their interest by 'making enquiries'.
However, teams from as many as six other nations are also targeting Reinildo, who has reportedly caught the eye of clubs in Italy, France, Saudi Arabia, Portugal, Spain and Turkey.
Reinildo played 29 times for Atletico in the 2024-25 season, and he will compete for Los Rojiblancos at this summer's Club World Cup before bidding farewell to the Spanish giants.
Prior to joining Atletico in 2022, Reinildo became a Ligue 1 champion with Lille in the 2020-21 campaign, and he has since scored two goals in 102 games for Simeone's side.
Aston Villa 'seeking new loan club' for Emiliano Buendia

Back to Villa Park, and the Lions purportedly want to loan out Argentinian attacker Emiliano Buendia again when his time at Bayer Leverkusen officially comes to an end.
The 28-year-old spent the second half of the campaign on loan at the 2023-24 Bundesliga champions but failed to impress, only conjuring up two goals from 14 appearances.
Buendia will soon head back to the West Midlands, where his contract runs for another two years, but he is unlikely to force his way back into Unai Emery's good books this summer.
As a result, The Sun claims that Villa will sanction another temporary exit for the former Norwich City man, who wants to stay in the Premier League rather than be sent abroad again.
Leeds United - managed by Buendia's ex-Norwich boss Daniel Farke - are said to be keeping an eye on the situation, but a move for Buendia is not one of their top priorities right now.
The Argentine has registered 10 goals and nine assists in 97 matches for Villa in all tournaments since his £32.4m switch from Carrow Road in the summer of 2021.
