Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has revealed that his family will play a major role in his decision regarding a new contract at the Emirates Stadium.
The 31-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2024-25 campaign for the Gunners, making 52 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and registering three assists in the process.
However, there is huge uncertainty when it comes to the Ghana international's future, as his current deal is due to expire at the end of the month, and a new contract has not been agreed.
Arsenal remain in talks with Partey, but clubs such as Barcelona are believed to be keeping a close eye on the situation in the event that he becomes available on a free transfer.
The midfielder has said that his family will play a major role in his final decision.
Partey is yet to sign to sign new deal at Arsenal
"I think the first thing is where are you happy and where do you feel at home. At the end of the day you’ve been in football, you’ve been in different teams," Partey told 3Sports.
"Then it’s about what is your next objective what do you want to achieve next. You still have to look at all this and at the end of the day we all have a family that needs money, this is our mind.
"We are not getting younger. There are a lot of things where you have to look now with a family, where you want them to be happy. When you are young you just play anywhere. I’m an Arsenal fan, I can’t decide anything and just have to leave it to my agent and the club. Me, I just want to enjoy football."
When asked whether he had just enjoyed the best season of his career, the midfielder said: "I think they will say about the availability because I was available throughout the whole season so of course they will say that.
"Every moment, every year or every time in training there I feel I’ve been in my best because I can’t count how many games I was not giving all my best.
"Sometimes it may go bad but every game I go all out and try to give my best. I feel happy in me, every year injury or no injury which is part of it I have given my best."
Will Partey sign a new deal at Arsenal?
Arsenal expert Charles Watts recently provided an update on Partey's future, claiming that the "most likely" scenario would be for him to sign a new deal at the Emirates Stadium.
"One way or the other, a decision will be made fairly quickly, because that's the nature of the beast when it comes to this sort of situation. I'm leaning more towards he stays, but anything can still happen," Watts told Sports Mole.
It would certainly not be a shock to see Partey leave the Emirates Stadium this summer, but there is an expectation that the two parties will come to an agreement before his contract in North London officially expires.
