How AC Milan could line up against Inter Milan

Ahead of Sunday's Serie A showdown between Inter Milan and AC Milan, Sports Mole looks at how Stefano Piolo's team could line up at San Siro.

AC Milan take on rivals Inter Milan on Sunday evening having put together a seven-match unbeaten streak since the start of 2020.

Despite spending much of the season in the bottom half of the table, Milan now sit a point away from the top six and have qualified for the latter stages of the Coppa Italia.

Boosted by the availability of a couple of key men, boss Stefano Piolo will hope that his side can cause a surprise against their second-placed opponents.

Here, Sports Mole predicts how Milan could line up at San Siro.

Piolo is able to call upon the services of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who had to sit out the last game with Hellas Verona due to illness.

The 38-year-old will take the place of either Ante Rebic or Rafael Leao, providing that Piolo does not switch tactics to accommodate all three players.

Milan are further boosted by the return of Ismael Bennacer after his suspension, which is likely to influence the rest of the midfield.

Hakan Calhanoglu could move out to the flank, with Giacomo Bonaventura potentially having to make do with a place among the replacements.

Simon Kjaer is also pushing for a start in defence, possibly at the expense of Mateo Musacchio.
