Two late penalties from Ben Botica give Harlequins an 18-14 win over Newcastle Falcons in the Aviva Premiership.

Harlequins needed a couple of late penalties to clinch an 18-14 win over Newcastle Falcons in the Aviva Premiership this afternoon.

The home side had the better of the chances in the first half, and were able to take a lead into the break following tries from Ollie Lindsay-Hague and Sam Smith.

Newcastle made a strong start to the second half, with Rory Clegg kicking two penalties in the space of three minutes to leave the visitors just three points down.

Falcons took the lead for the first time with just over 10 minutes left to play when Alex Tait just managed to squeeze the ball over.

However, Newcastle were reduced to 14 men as Scott Lawson finished the game in the sin bin, allowing Ben Botica to add a pair of late penalties.
