Kyran Bracken believes that new England head coach Eddie Jones will choose a new captain instead of sticking with Chris Robshaw.

Former scrum-half Kyran Bracken has suggested that new England head coach Eddie Jones could drop Chris Robshaw in favour of a new international captain.

Jones, who has previously been in charge of Australia and Japan, was announced as the first foreign coach of England this morning.

Asked if he thought Robshaw would retain the captaincy under the Australian, Bracken told BBC Radio 5 live: "I've got to say I doubt it. I'm sure Eddie Jones will be looking for someone else to go into that role and perhaps start afresh.

"I also think the captaincy is something that [Robshaw] can do without at the moment."

Bracken believes that the Harlequins forward still has a future at international level and could move from blindside to openside flanker.

"I think he is certainly still going to be involved with England," Bracken added. "He's a great player but I think he's playing out of position. He's probably likely to be be a very good No6 for England going forwards."

Jones's first high-profile game in charge will be against Scotland at Murrayfield in England's opening Six Nations clash on February 6.
