A report claims that Amanda Staveley's PCP Partners group are willing to increase their previous offer to purchase Newcastle United from Mike Ashley.

Amanda Staveley has reportedly reopened talks with Newcastle United over the past few weeks and is hopeful of a takeover deal being reached.

The British businesswoman walked away from the negotiating table earlier this year due to a disagreement in the valuation of the Premier League club.

United owner Mike Ashley described the prolonged discussions as "a waste of time" but, according to The Mirror, there is still a chance that an agreement could be reached.

Fresh talks are said to have started last month and Staveley's PCP Partners group are ready to increase their previous offer, moving closer to Ashley's £350m asking price.

Newcastle's upturn in form is said to have been a key factor in the deal being kept alive, with the Magpies now 10 points clear of the relegation zone and almost certain to avoid the drop.
