Football anthem 'Three Lions' sets a new all-time Official Chart record following England's run to the World Cup semi-finals.

The Official Charts Company has revealed that football anthem 'Three Lions' has set an all-time record.

Over the last week the song - by David Baddiel, Frank Skinner and the Lightning Seeds - has garnered a combined 80,000 sales to return to the top of the charts due to England's progress at the World Cup.

However, it has now been announced that records continue to be broken with the same song - with the same artist lineup - topping the charts on four separate occasions for the first time in the Official Charts' 66-year history.

The original song had two one-week stints at the top back in 1996 before two years later in 1998, the re-worked version had another three weeks in first place.

England have now exited the tournament after losing 2-1 to Croatia in the semi-finals on Wednesday night.
