Bournemouth forward Benik Afobe says that he was always hoping to secure a loan move back to former club Wolverhampton Wanderers during the January transfer window.

Forward Benik Afobe has said that he is "glad to be home" after completing a loan move from Bournemouth back to former club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In January 2016, Afobe left Molineux to link up with the Cherries, but the striker has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular at the Vitality Stadium with just five Premier League starts being made in the current campaign.

Late on deadline day, Wolves were able to secure a loan switch for the former Arsenal trainee, and Afobe has revealed that he is delighted to be returning to his former club.

The 24-year-old told Wolves TV: "I was always hoping that it would get done and I am glad to be a Wolves player again.

"Two years ago, I obviously left and and it has been good playing in the Premier League with Bournemouth, but I'm just glad to be home. This feels like home for me."

Afobe could feature when Wolves host Sheffield United in the Championship on Saturday evening.
