The 18-year-old, who made his Premier League debut on the final weekend of last season, has put pen to paper on a deal which will run until the summer of 2020.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis, who has selected Field on two occasions in the league this season, has branded the academy product "a wonderful talent".

"Sam is a wonderful talent who has made great progress so far," Pulis told West Brom's official website. "He has a very exciting future and we are all absolutely delighted to see him sign this contract. It's now all about continuing to work hard and develop."

Field has previously represented England at Under-18 level.
