Manager Tony Mowbray - currently at Blackburn Rovers - is reportedly in contention for a return to West Bromwich Albion.

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly identified Blackburn Rovers boss Tony Mowbray as a possible managerial target.

Earlier this month, the Baggies announced that they had parted company with Alan Pardew, with Darren Moore likely to remain in charge until the end of the season.

Moore - the club's youth coach - has put himself into contention for the main role at The Hawthorns by recording four points from games against Swansea City and Manchester United, but it appears that the West Midlands outfit are also considering a reunion with a former boss.

According to The Mirror, West Brom are contemplating a move for Mowbray, who guided the club to promotion to the Premier League in 2008.

The 54-year-old is on the brink of promotion to the Championship with Rovers currently in the top two of the League One standings - but the former defender may get the chance of a second stint at West Brom.

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes and Leicester City assistant Michael Appleton have also been linked with the vacancy.
