Wales superstar Gareth Bale says that he is "honoured" to be a part of the history-making Dragons squad, as preparations turn towards Wednesday evening's semi-final.

Gareth Bale has admitted that he and his Wales teammates are desperate to create some more history in France to keep their Euro 2016 journey alive.

The Dragons are through to the last-four stage in what is their first-ever appearance in the competition, potentially just 90 minutes away from a place in the final.

Portugal now stand between Wales and a date with destiny, but Bale insists that his side will head to Lyon on Wednesday night without being fearful of their opponents, who boast fellow Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo in their ranks.

"It's the most honoured I have felt," he told reporters of Wales's run to the semi-finals. "We want to continue the journey and make more history.

"We aren't going to fear anything and we're going play the best football we can. Hopefully that's good enough. It's a dream to win the tournament, but our aim is to make sure we win the next game against Portugal. There are no stars in our team, we all get along like brothers.

"We just take each game as it comes and it's going well so far. We have come here to do business and we want to win the tournament. We can't think past this semi-final and we want to get the job done and get through the final."

Wales last qualified for a major competition in 1958 when they reached the quarter-final stage of the World Cup before being knocked out by a Pele-inspired Brazil.
