New Sunderland manager David Moyes is reportedly keen to sign £21m-rated winger Eduardo Salvio from Benfica this summer.

Sunderland are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Eduardo Salvio from Benfica.

The 26-year-old joined the Portuguese giants in 2012 and has gone on to make 121 appearances for the club, scoring 28 goals.

Portuguese newspaper Record reports that Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira has travelled to London to conduct talks with a number of English clubs over deals for his players.

Salvio is thought to be one of those on the agenda, although Benfica are holding out for £21m for the Argentine, which could be out of Sunderland's budget.

New boss David Moyes is understood to want to make changes to his squad ahead of the new season, with a centre-back, right-back and striker also on his shopping list.
