Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce warns that his side have not completed the job of survival yet ahead of their crucial clash with Everton.

Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce has warned fans to keep their expectations in check ahead of his side's match against Everton at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday night.

The Black Cats host the Toffees knowing that victory would secure their Premier League status, sending both Newcastle United and Norwich City down in the process.

However, Allardyce is expecting a response from Everton following their defeat to champions Leicester City last time out.

"Don't come to the stadium with the expectation that it's job done because it isn't," he told reporters.

"There will be an instinctive response from Everton, so it's by no means a foregone conclusion.

"On Saturday we had outstanding support and attitude and it got the fans off their seats. Wednesday is all about the result."

Allardyce also confirmed that Lamine Kone will be fit to return in midweek having been forced off in the second half of Sunderland's 3-2 win over Chelsea.

"Kone had a thigh problem but he's OK for Wednesday. Billy Jones is the only absentee," he added.

The Black Cats currently sit one point above the relegation zone, meaning that a draw or defeat to Everton will take matters to the final day, when they face Watford at Vicarage Road.
