Schalke 04 sporting director Christian Heidel has confirmed that the club have agreed a deal with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Nabil Bentaleb.
The 21-year-old Algeria international broke through the youth ranks at Spurs in 2013, and was a regular feature in the team during Mauricio Pochettino's first season in charge.
However, in the 2015-16 campaign, the midfielder started just two Premier League fixtures, dropping behind Mousa Dembele and Eric Dier in the ranks.
Following the summer arrival of Victor Wanyama, it has been made even harder for Bentaleb to get minutes under his belt, but he has been given a lifeline by Schalke.
Earlier this week it was reported that the German club have agreed a loan deal with Spurs, and today, Heidel confirmed that Bentaleb will take part in training with his new teammates later today.
The sporting director also confirmed that the midfielder had a medical last week.
