Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is viewed by Tottenham Hotspur as a candidate to become the club's next manager, according to a report.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is reportedly viewed by Tottenham Hotspur as a candidate to become the London club's next head coach.

Spurs's search for Jose Mourinho's replacement is ongoing, and former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo is thought to be the leading contender for the position.

However, according to the Evening Standard, the North London side have also identified Gerrard as a target, having been impressed by the former Liverpool captain's work at Rangers.

The 41-year-old has been in charge of the Gers since 2018 and has made a strong impression at the helm, leading the club to the 2020-21 Scottish Premiership title.

Gerrard now has a record of 112 wins from 170 matches in charge of the Scottish champions, while he has a deep knowledge of the Premier League following his 17 years in the Liverpool first team.

Tottenham ended last season with Ryan Mason at the helm and have thus far been frustrated in their pursuit of a number of candidates, including Brendan Rodgers, Antonio Conte and Julen Lopetegui.
