France boss Didier Deschamps describes Tottenham Hotspur midfielder as a "good soldier" for reviving his club career.

France boss Didier Deschamps has insisted that Moussa Sissoko has a part to play on the national stage now that he has regained form at Tottenham Hotspur.

The midfielder was an outcast during his first season at the North London club, starting just eight Premier League games in total.

However, in the current campaign, the 28-year-old has featured 10 times and got on the scoresheet in Spurs' 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town at the weekend.

"Moussa is playing again - he is putting together a run of matches and he is playing well," The Mirror quotes Deschamps as saying. "He has experience and he had a really good Euros. He does not have a fixed position. He is a good soldier. When I use him, I know he is going to respond."

Sissoko, who joined Tottenham from Newcastle United in the summer of 2016 for £30m, could feature in World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and Belarus.
