Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has expressed his belief that Benfica will be the biggest challengers for top spot in Group A of the Champions League this season.
The Portuguese outfit have made a disappointing start to their campaign with defeats in their opening two matches, leaving them bottom of the group and already six points adrift of United.
However, Mourinho believes that Benfica will pose a bigger threat to his side than either CSKA Moscow or Basel ahead of the upcoming double-header later this month.
"The defeat suffered in Switzerland didn't change my opinion that Benfica are our main opponent in this group stage of the Champions League," he told Record.
"Benfica's bad start in the Champions League doesn't change the approach to the double-match that is at the door. They are better than CSKA and Basel."
United take on Benfica away from home next Wednesday before hosting the Portuguese side at Old Trafford for the return fixture on October 31.
