Sevilla boss Unai Emery has paid tribute to his team after Wednesday's 3-1 win over Liverpool in the Europa League final.

The Spanish outfit trailed to a Daniel Sturridge effort at the break, but Kevin Gameiro equalised 17 seconds into the second period, before Coke struck a double as Sevilla won the Europa League for a third time in succession.

Emery has revealed that he told his side to 'pretend that they were in Seville' in the neutral ground in Basel.

"It's a unique satisfaction. Now we have to enjoy it, knowing we have another final on Sunday. Sevilla and the team deserve this," Emery told reporters. "We organised our heads and we know why we've come this far.

"We had to remember the neutral field was the Sanchez Pizjuan, that we were in Seville. And the team took off. Liverpool are a great team and the goal increased their confidence. But that also happened with us. We felt strong, confident, when we equalised.

"The Europa League has given us a lot. I said we had to enjoy the final and we'd enjoy it twice if we won. The mental change led to the tactical change. We had to go forward, to be ourselves."

Sevilla have now won Europe's second competition on five occasions.
