Cristiano Ronaldo to return "soon"

Cristiano Ronaldo reveals that he will "soon" return to action after picking up a knee injury in the final of Euro 2016 in July.

Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he will return to action "soon" in an update posted on social media.

The 31-year-old has not yet represented Real Madrid this season after picking up a knee injury in the final of Euro 2016, which his Portugal side won 1-0 after extra time.

It had initially been claimed that the forward would not return until early next year due to the severity of the damage, but Ronaldo has insisted that he will "soon" return to action for both club and country.

Ronaldo was crowned UEFA's Best Player in Europe for 2016 last month and upon receiving the award, he revealed that he intended on spending another 10 years at Real Madrid before hanging up his boots aged 41.
