Roman Shirokov scored a 90th-minute winner as Russia overcame Portugal in Krasnodar on Saturday.
Before the international friendly, there was a period of silence in memory of those that lost their lives in the Paris terrorism attacks.
Russia, who had the likes of Alan Dzagoev, Artyom Dzyuba and Aleksandr Samedov in their XI, dominated the first 45 minutes of action, with an under-strength Portugal, who were without Cristiano Ronaldo, struggling to make their mark.

Smart work from Rui Patricio in the Portugal goal prevented Russia from taking the lead on two separate occasions, while Pepe blocked a goal-bound strike from Dzyuba, who also hit the crossbar in the 11th minute with a thumping header.
Portugal improved as the half developed and came close to opening the scoring through 18-year-old debutant Goncalo Guedes, but Igor Akinfeev was on hand to make a smart stop, with the two teams entering the break on terms.
It was the home side that continued to look the most likely in the early stages of the second period, with Russia boasting eight attempts to Portugal's four as the game entered its final 25 minutes of action.
Fyodor Smolov had the ball in the back of the net for the home side 15 minutes from time, but the goal was disallowed for handball. Russia were not to be denied, however, with Shirokov finishing off a sweeping counter late on to claim victory for the hosts.
Both of these teams will take part in Euro 2016 next summer.
