Lazio went into tonight's Derby della Capitale looking for a fourth successive victory over bitter city rivals Roma.
Vladimir Petkovic's side took the lead midway through the first half, thanks to thumping finish from distance by Hernanes.
The Brazilian then missed a penalty before conceding a spot kick at the other end after fouling Miralem Pjanic.
Francesco Totti made no mistake to equalise, before Giuseppe Biava was sent off for two bookable offences.
Roma were unable to find a late winner and had to settle for a 1-1 draw after Erik Lamela's incredible late miss.
Look back at a blistering Rome derby with Sports Mole's minute-by-minute commentary below.
He told reporters at his pre-match press conference: "It is a great privilege for me to be here for the Rome derby and I want to enjoy it all the way. The fact Lazio have won the last three derbies could weigh on us, but we have to focus only on this match.
"It will be decisive to keep our cool, especially as there were so many red cards in recent meetings with Lazio. Obviously winning against Palermo would have allowed us to go into this game with three more points and the confidence that had been building in recent weeks.
"The derby is worth three points, but also so much more than that. We need to use the ability to suffer under pressure and turn that pressure into positive energy."
