Former Arsenal centre-back Philippe Senderos is currently training with Scottish Premiership side Rangers.

The 31-year-old left Aston Villa on a free transfer in January and spent the remainder of the 2015-16 campaign with Grasshoppers before departing when his contract expired in July.

It is understood that the 57-time Switzerland international, who did not make his country's squad for Euro 2016, has no plans to retire and he is currently training with Rangers in a bid to win a contract for the 2016-17 season.

Senderos represented Arsenal between 2003 and 2010, while the defender has also turned out for AC Milan, Everton, Fulham and Valencia during a well-travelled career.
