Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly contemplating whether to make an approach for Benfica forward Goncalo Ramos, who has also been linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly identified Benfica forward Goncalo Ramos as a potential summer transfer target.

With a new head coach and sporting director at the helm, PSG are looking to make changes to their first-team squad ahead of the new campaign.

Midfielder Vitinha has already arrived at Parc des Princes from Porto, while defender Milan Skriniar could also be signed from Inter Milan over the coming weeks.

However, PSG are also keen to find backup to Kylian Mbappe, the expectation being that Mauro Icardi will soon depart the club.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Ligue 1 champions are showing an interest in signing Ramos from Benfica.

The 21-year-old has come through the youth setup at Estadio da Luz to make 47 appearances in the senior ranks, scoring 12 goals in all competitions.

Now that Darwin Nunez has signed for Liverpool, the Portugal Under-21s international is seemingly in line for regular game time under new head coach Roger Schmidt.

However, it appears that PSG have added him to their shortlist of potential additions, joining the likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Hugo Ekitike.

The French champions are said to be against paying Sassuolo's €50m (£42m) price-tag for Scamacca, while Reims forward Ekitike has been struggling with a hamstring injury.

Should PSG make a formal bid for Ramos, they may face competition from Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are in the market for competition for Raul Jimenez.

Fabio Silva's alleged imminent departure on loan to Anderlecht has reportedly led to Bruno Lage targeting a player whom he knows from his days at Benfica.

Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest are other Premier League clubs who are said to be monitoring the situation.

Ramos, who can play down the middle of the attack or as a second striker, still has four years remaining on his contract at his current club.
