Karl Robinson steps down as MK Dons manager by mutual consent.

League One strugglers MK Dons have parted company with manager Karl Robinson.

The coach has ended his six-year stay at the club "by mutual consent" after a poor start to the season left them teetering above the relegation zone after 15 games.

"Robinson fully embraced and immersed himself in MK Dons and Milton Keynes itself, which was reflected in his close relationship with staff at the club and its supporters," read a statement on the club's official website.

"However, the start to the League One campaign has been disappointing with results this season not matching the desired standard. Therefore, chairman Pete Winkelman and Robinson have agreed it is in the best interest of both parties to go their separate ways."

Saturday's 3-0 home defeat to Southend United extended MK Dons' winless run to four matches and left them two places about the League One drop zone.
