Tim Cahill is reportedly on the shortlist of candidates to become Millwall's next permanent manager.

Tim Cahill has been reportedly included on a shortlist of candidates for the permanent manager role at Millwall.

The position is vacant after Neil Harris surprised many during the week by resigning after four-and-a-half years at the Den.

Cahill kicked off his career with the East London club, making 250 appearances in all competitions between 1997 and 2004 and scoring 57 goals, before returning for a single season in 2017.

According to The Telegraph, the Australian striker has been included on a list of managerial candidates as Millwall begin their search for Harris's replacement.

The 39-year-old moved to Everton after leaving Millwall, netting 68 times for the Toffees, and scored at three separate World Cups during a career spanning 20 years.

Millwall claimed a shock 2-1 win over Leeds United on Saturday in what was the club's first game since Harris resigned.
