Manchester United midfielder Casemiro will allegedly see his wages rise to £500,000 a week if the Red Devils qualify for the 2025-26 Champions League.

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro will reportedly see his wages rise to £500,000 a week if the Red Devils qualify for the 2025-26 Champions League.

The 20-time English champions have had a disastrous league season, sitting down in 15th spot in the Premier League table, but they can qualify for next season's Champions League via the Europa League.

Indeed, Man United are on the verge of making the final, having recorded a 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of their semi-final, with the return match taking place at Old Trafford next week.

Should Ruben Amorim's side overcome Athletic, then a win over Tottenham Hotspur or Bodo/Glimt in the final later this month would secure them a European trophy and a spot at the top European table in 2025-26.

Man United's finances, and summer transfer budget, would receive a huge boost if that proves to be the case, but according to the Daily Star, it will cost them extra money in terms of Casemiro's salary.

Casemiro 'in line for £500,000-a-week salary' at Man United

The report claims that Casemiro has a clause in his contract which would see him secure a 25% pay rise if the Red Devils return to the Champions League.

As a result, Casemiro's wages would rise from £400,000 a week to £500,000 a week, which is the salary that Cristiano Ronaldo collected during his second spell at Old Trafford.

The experienced midfielder agreed the clause when he made the switch to Man United from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022, and it could now pay off for the South American.

Casemiro has made 38 appearances for Man United during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring four goals and registering three assists in the process, playing a key role for the team on their run to the Europa League final.

Will Casemiro leave Man United this summer?

There is believed to be firm interest from the Saudi Pro League in Casemiro, while his form in recent months would also have made a number of European teams take notice.

Even when he was out of the team under Amorim, though, Casemiro made it clear that he was intending to see out the remainder of his deal at Old Trafford, which is due to run until June 2026.

Should his wages rise to £500,000 a week, it would be even more difficult to move him on, and he appears to have gained the trust of Amorim due to his form of late.

As a result, it is highly unlikely that the Real Madrid legend will be on the move during this summer's transfer window, especially as Christian Eriksen is likely to leave on a free transfer.
