Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has offered to leave Old Trafford during this summer's transfer window.

The 30-year-old has been Man United's standout player during a desperately disappointing campaign, scoring 19 goals and registering 19 assists in 56 appearances in all competitions.

However, he was unable to inspire the Red Devils to success in the Europa League on Wednesday night, with Tottenham Hotspur recording a 1-0 victory in Spain to land the trophy and qualify for next season's Champions League.

Fernandes has said that he wants to be a part of the rebuild job at Man United, but the attacker has also insisted that he would be prepared to leave the English giants if they decided to cash-in on him during the summer market.

It is understood that Al-Hilal are determined to sign Fernandes this summer, with the Saudi Pro League outfit believed to be willing to spend in the region of £107m to capture him in the coming weeks.

Fernandes opens door to potential Man United departure

"I have always been honest. I've always said I will be here until the club says to me that it's time to go," Fernandes told reporters following the defeat to Tottenham.

"I'm eager to do more, to be able to bring the club the great days. In the day that the club thinks that I'm too much or it's time to part ways, football is like this, you never know it. But I've always said it, and I keep my word in the same way.

"If the club thinks it's time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it's what it is, and football sometimes is like this.

"It's very sad. We wanted to win more than anything in this final. It's a very sad day because we've done some very good things in this competition until today.

"But today was the day that mattered, the most important day of the competition. It was the day we could have been in the history of the Europa League, but it's not like that. And football is cruel, and it's been our turn to lose."

Will Fernandes leave Man United this summer?

Fernandes has been a shining light for Man United this season, but he failed to make his mark against Tottenham in the Europa League, with the Portugal international unable to influence the match from a deeper position.

As well as interest from the Saudi Pro League, there are believed to be a number of major European clubs keeping a close eye on his situation, including Real Madrid.

Should Man United receive an offer in excess of £100m for Fernandes, then they would simply have to let him leave considering his age, but if that does not occur, then he has to remain at Old Trafford.

Fernandes' underwhelming performance against Spurs should not define his season; he needed help from his teammates in the Europa League final, and it simply did not arrive - the supporting cast, as has been the case on too many occasions this season, was nowhere to be seen.

The Portuguese still wants to be a part of the Red Devils, though, and it is therefore unlikely that he will leave this summer, even if it means him playing another season outside of the Champions League.
