Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani has reportedly emerged as a potential January transfer target for Barcelona.
While the 34-year-old has seen his game time at United limited this season, the veteran has been provided with regular appearances since the October international break.
However, at a time when his contract is due to expire next summer, the Uruguay international could depart Old Trafford at some point during 2022.
According to El Nacional, Cavani has been identified as a possible replacement for fellow South American Sergio Aguero.
The Argentine will spend at least three months on the sidelines after being diagnosed with a heart problem earlier this week.
Although United may demand a fee for Cavani's services in January, the player is technically in a position where he can hold discussions with the Catalan giants, albeit with regards to a move as a free agent later in the year.
