Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester United could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United will expect to welcome Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani back to the squad for Saturday's Premier League clash with top-four rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Ronaldo missed the 4-1 derby defeat to Manchester City with a hip flexor injury but has been back in training this week, while Cavani may also return to the pitch after his troublesome groin problem.

Raphael Varane is also back in training after recovering from a bout of COVID-19, but Luke Shaw is still unavailable as Alex Telles prepares to continue at left-back.

Varane will likely displace Victor Lindelof in the Man United rearguard if he is fit enough, and Diogo Dalot could very well earn a recall at right-back over Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Paul Pogba and Fred could form the midfield pairing should Ralf Rangnick spare Scott McTominay (calf), as Bruno Fernandes continues ahead of the duo in the hole.

Marcus Rashford would have felt hopeful of starting at the tip of the attack given United's attacking injury woes, but Ronaldo is certain to lead the line if he can prove his fitness.

Such a move would see Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga continue in the wide areas, but the United boss also has the Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid to take into account and may consider giving Rashford some minutes either way.

Man United possible starting lineup: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Telles; Pogba, Fred; Sancho, Fernandes, Elanga; Ronaldo
