Premier League Team of the Week - Sergio Aguero, Gonzalo Higuain, Eden Hazard

Sports Mole selects its Premier League team of the week for gameweek 25, including Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and five Chelsea players.

The Premier League title race is hotting up with 13 games remaining of the season and the gap at the top of the table is now down to just three points.

Manchester City cruised to a 3-1 win over Arsenal to put the pressure on Liverpool, who could only respond with a 1-1 draw at West Ham United on Monday night.

Tottenham Hotspur are also right in the mix courtesy of their 1-0 win over Newcastle United, meaning that just five points now separate the top three.

The battle for a top-four spot also took a few more twists and turns over the weekend as Arsenal slipped from fourth to sixth courtesy of their defeat at the Etihad coupled with wins for both Chelsea - 5-0 against Huddersfield Town - and Manchester United, who beat Leicester City 1-0.

Cardiff City recorded an emotional 2-0 win over Bournemouth in their first home game since the disappearance of Emiliano Sala, while Crystal Palace also distanced themselves from the dropzone with victory by the same scoreline over struggling Fulham.

The pressure is growing on Everton boss Marco Silva, meanwhile, after his side slumped to a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Here, Sports Mole selects its Premier League team of the week for gameweek 25.

Ben Foster has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League this season, and he continued his fine form with a four-save showing in Watford's goalless draw with Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday to earn his side an undeserved point.

Craig Cathcart was also integral to that clean sheet at the Amex, and he takes his place in a back three as more attacking selections further up the pitch force us into a rather unorthodox 3-2-3-2 formation for this week's team.

There was no shortage of competition for places in the defensive trio, with Willy Boly, Conor Coady, Victor Lindelof and Shane Duffy all deserving honourable mentions, but Cardiff's Sol Bamba beats them all to selection this week courtesy of a towering performance as Cardiff kept a crucial clean sheet against a dangerous Bournemouth attack.

Chelsea dominate this week's XI with five selections, and the first of those comes in defence as David Luiz completes the back three having not only kept a clean sheet, but also scored himself and launched attack after attack as the Blues bounced back from their horror show at Bournemouth last time out.

N'Golo Kante's role in a more attacking position has been questioned at times this season, but he supplied two assists in that win over Huddersfield to take his place in midfield alongside Wolves' Leander Dendoncker, who produced the best performance of his career at the club so far and capped it with a well-taken goal.

The front five is entirely comprised of players from Chelsea and Manchester City, who will face each other next Sunday. Ross Barkley is perhaps the most contentious choice ahead of the likes of Paul Pogba and Callum Paterson, but he was a constant driving force in Chelsea's win and picked up an assist for good measure.

There can be little argument about his two clubmates Eden Hazard and Gonzalo Higuain joining him in the XI, with the latter opening his Chelsea account with a brace - the second of which hinted at the type of pure striking quality which Maurizio Sarri's side have been sorely lacking this season.

Hazard also helped himself to two goals against the surely-doomed Terriers - including one from the penalty spot - and Willian was another contender for a place in this team having registered an assist to play his part in the rout.

Raheem Sterling is chosen above Willian, Son Heung-min and Nathan Redmond, though, having laid on two assists as Man City ultimately cruised to victory over Arsenal, both of which made it impossible for Sergio Aguero to miss.

The Argentine was a sure-fire pick for this week's team having helped himself to a 10th Premier League hat-trick - now only one behind Alan Shearer's record - and while all three goals were from close range, he once again showcased his deadly instinct in front of goal to fire Man City right back into the title race.

Cardiff's Bobby Reid and Raul Jimenez of Wolves also deserve mentions for the centre-forward roles, but they were up against particularly stiff competition this week.
