Ralf Rangnick reportedly held a two-hour phone conversation with new Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag to discuss a number of matters related to the club.

Ralf Rangnick has reportedly held a two-hour phone conversation with new Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.

With his role as Man United manager ending at the conclusion of the season, Rangnick was set to work six days a month in a consultancy job.

However, the Red Devils announced that the 63-year-old would not be staying at Old Trafford, allowing Rangnick to focus solely on his new role as the manager of the Austrian national team.

According to The Telegraph, before the former RB Leipzig boss moved on to pastures new, he held a two-hour phone conversation with Ten Hag.

The report suggests that Rangnick presented a number of findings to Ten Hag about the state of the United squad, and what needed to be done to improve ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Rangnick, who won just 11 of his 29 games as United boss, will take charge of his first match as the head coach of the Austrian national team on Friday for a UEFA Nations League contest with Croatia.
