Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick says that Alejandro Garnacho has the potential to become a regular for the club.

Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick has said that Alejandro Garnacho has the potential to become a regular for the Red Devils in the future.

The 17-year-old was named in the squad for Saturday's Premier League clash with Norwich City at Old Trafford and was ultimately an unused substitute in the 3-2 win over the Canaries.

Rangnick has said that the teenager, who arrived from Atletico Madrid in 2020, has been training with the Man United first team "for the last two weeks" and has the potential to carve out a successful career at Old Trafford.

"[Garnacho] has been training with us [the first team] for the last two weeks and I know that he is one of the most promising players," Rangnick told MUTV.

"[He is] still only 17, but a player that hopefully if he keeps his feet on the ground. If he keeps trying to get better every day, then he will not only be sitting on the bench but there is every chance he will be playing for this club."

Garnacho, who was recently called into the senior Argentina squad, has found the back of the net on 12 occasions and registered six assists in 30 appearances for Man United at Under-18 and Under-23 level this term.

The Madrid-born attacker will now be bidding to keep his spot in the squad for Tuesday's Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield.
